Abkhazian Chicken. So good…

You’re Invited: Come to Georgia This Summer And Dinner’s On Me.

Some guy in Moscow made sure that Russians are not able to fly to Georgia anymore. Not a nice move — but no reason for panic. Europeans love the country and this summer might be the best time to have a Georgian vacation.

It’s not the first time that Russia has stopped flights to a country to impose pressure on it. They did the same with Turkey not long ago. So this time it’s Georgia. Apparently in order to teach them that they are heavily dependent on Russia.

No doubt — this will definitely hurt the country. Despite the fact that the relationship between these two countries is quite bad, Russians love to travel to Georgia. And they are most welcome, just like any other tourist. Actually — Russian tourists will probably suffer most from all of this.

Because everyone else that travels to Georgia now will probably like it even better. Not necessarily because the Russians aren’t there (even though they don’t exactly have an immaculate reputation), but more because it is less crowded and mostly because they are even more welcome now.

And it’s a wonderful country. Lovely mountains and seaside, a fascinating capital that’s much more beautiful than people expect, incredibly good food, and — most of all — exceptionally friendly and hospitable people.

I fully enjoy living in Tbilisi. It’s four months ago that I moved from Switzerland to Georgia and I truly love living here. And I think that it’s the perfect time to visit the country this summer. Take the place of a Russian tourist that is not allowed to come. Hop on a plane and enjoy a place that is truly authentic, that is unique in every way, and that has been stripped of its Russian visitors.

To all of my friends and the friends of my friends — come on over and visit. I will be happy to host you.

Every single one of you that comes to Tbilisi this summer (on a booking that’s been made after June 20th) and visits me at Leavingstone (with proof of booking) will be invited for dinner. No exception, no fast food, true Georgian style. Promise.

So spread this article, tell everyone to come. We’ll have a great time in Tbilisi and make the Russian guy regret his decision.
